A pulley won't affect your gas mileage. My 93 gets better than my 95, and the 95 isn't pulleyed. Every mod I did to the 93 increased mileage.

Same here. . . . I'm spinning a 2" pulley, no EGR, and run at less then 180 degrees and still get 32-35 MPG on the highway going 75-85 MPH.

I always assumed with a smaller pulley obviously the S/C will spin faster @ any given RPM.. so in a sense create more boost which as far as I thought with more boost would create more heat ( as far as daily driven sense.. I'm refering to MPG standpoint not overall power )
Any input? REbuttal?? |

It doesn't produce more heat that you would know, unless you're in the boost all the time, which you're not. It produces more power, and the engine doesn't work as hard to maintain reasonable rpm's and speed.

So, you are all saying that temps don't increase to a significant degree with a smaller pulley under normal driving conditions, only while in boost? Interesting and good to know. I am learning! |
