Stop the Smaller Pulley Oppression!

Ok, this is probably in the wrong forum topic, but only the SCed guys would understand.

Last night, I am hanging around the local AZ gp crowd, and, again, I get harassed for still having the stock pulley on (you know who you guys are, Thomas, Rhett). I explain my reasons (need to do CAI, colder plugs, etc. which I haven't done yet) and my goal (14.99 or less, stock) and they back off as usual. What is a stock pullied bonnie owner to do? Are there any other Bonnie owners who still have the stock pulley? Do you guys also get beat up for not pullying down?

Just venting. Admins/Mods: Please move to the appropriate section/delete entirely....cause........... I really don't care!

Good topic for here, Bob. ;)

I have the stock pulley on one car for the same reason as you. 14's stock, or bust (actually, it's going to be easy for both of us, it's just looking for the right time to go to the track).

I'm actually planning on taking a puller and the spare 2.5" for the 95, and when I break 14's stock, I'll swap the smaller pulley on there, and make a couple more runs.

stock here too

My brother still has the stock pulley on his 1997 Canadian 40th Anniv. Ed. SSEi.
I also have the stock pulley on my 1995, but that's only for a short time. I have a 2.4" that going on as soon as the cooler weather comes (early-mid September), at which time I'll also start modding the car so I can continue to use the 2.4" next summer in the heat without worries of knock.
My brothers reason for still having the stock pulley is because the car has 200k on it (but it still pulls dang well -enough to seriously hurt my lightly modded 1995 SLE SC with it's bad o2 sensor), and he wants to just drive the car. Said he might take it to the track this fall, which will be a true lightly modded S1 L67 vs stock SII L67 comparison.

Thanks all. I was starting to feel all alone in the 3800 SC world. I just get asked all the time by these guys. Maybe it's a gp thing :? (I am the only non-gp SC in the bunch)

I had a feeling some of the Bonnie owners here would understand!

I honestly am looking forward to seeing what a smaller pulley will do (even DriverJohn was heckling me and telling me it is the best/most fun mod ever!) I'll continue to stand my ground until I am ready

Blue Eyes: that will be an interesting test and good fun. Bill drove his car and my car at Woodburn and his 95 took mine, but it was close. 15.17 for the 95 and 15.19 on mine IIRC.

I'd never go back to a stock pulley ... NEVER!

Guys, I am sure once I "pulley down", I will never go back either  and Shadd, I would be HUGELY disappointed if you EVER went back to stock anything. The world just wouldn't be right ;)

It just amazed me how many around me couldn't believe I had not done it yet!

I can see it now..........after I drop the pulley size in the near future, I'll be posting how I can't believe I waited this long to do it
