SC RATTLE IN NOSE CONE
ok guys, i have a question. today, my sc started rattling at idle , as soon as i gave it a little gas, it was gone, i took off the belt and spun the sc. spun freely, but if i turned it back and forth, there was a little click, like a little slop in the coupler. mit just started tonight, will it last till weds till i get a new coupler. when its loaded , it doesnt rattle at all.
there is a big race this weekend and i wanna show for it. any ideas if it will last. or just maybe get louder. the play is not alot. maybe like 1/32"-1/16" max rotating play

It will last until u get the new one. Really the only thing that happens to it is the holes start to expand from wear & tear but its far from breaking in my opinion. I just did this surgery.

That'* a brand new ZZP coupler in that thing, isn't it? That'* what Floz was using before Zoomer cut him off. I'd be curious to see if it'* black (eaton) or green (zzp) when you get it out of there.
You'll be fine. You can do 50k miles on a sloppy coupler, no prob.

floz said he put a zzp coupler in it, but again, thats another story. without a hood insulator, its loud, and defintly coming from the nose cone, but as soon as you give it just a little gas, it goes away. it just started today. the last 2 times at the track i have noticed just before my shift points, something would rattle a little like a pulley or something, this might have been starting and i just didnt hear it clearly till now. im gonna give it a shot, and order a zzp coupler monday . whats a pain is, i try to keep my car look good and now this rattling makes it sound like crap at idle lol
also when i shut it off, i can hear a clunk as the sc stops

how loud does this sound usually get, i raised my idle a little to quiet it some till it get the coupler. there is definitly a clank when i shut off the motor. also , what actually rattles inside the nose cone. do the dowel pins hit the other plate or does it allow the gears to rattle and clank. at times it get loud and sounds like the rotors are clanking, but it spins freely. unless the the rattle resonates into the rotors and case and aplifies the sound

The rattle SHOULD be just the pins in the coupler. There'* no slop anywhere else. Especially if it spins freely. Remember that the blower turns twice as fast as your engine rpm'*, and even faster than that now with the smaller pulley. So you're slamming it to a stop when you kill the car from about 1600 rpm'* at least.
