Default *.C. oil leak

Noticed today when I popped my hood that my supercharger is leaking oit from the rear seal by the screws, got it from canadian supercharger. Do you think that they will send me a new seal since I've only put a little over 1000miles on it, changed the oil at 480miles as stated to do, so not to void the warrenty. Or is suppose to drain out if overfilled?

You can't over-fill a SC. It'* physically impossible.

The problem you have is the input shaft has a small groove worn in it from the previous owner. The new seal hasn't fully seated in that groove yet. It may drip a tiny bit (even new SC'* do) but should subside over time.

I think if you check your SC oil after a year, you won't even be able to tell you've lost any.

I'd say just keep an eye on it. Both M62'* I've rebuilt for myself (high mile units) had this problem for awhile until the seal 'broke in' to the shaft groove. I can shoot a pic of that groove tomorrow if you'd like to see what I'm talking about. I have to rebuild another ND for myself.

I wonder whether the rebuilder used a Viton seal or a Nitrile rubber seal.
I've replace the nose seal on a few '93/'93 superchargers, and my experience has been that either they leak immediately and continue to leak, or they don't leak at all.
The one on my '92 leaked with a new Nitrile seal so I replaced it with a new Viton seal, and to my surprise, it still leaked with the Viton seal, and still leaks after 8 months.

Yeah I wiped up the built up oil and to see if it would build back up and haven't seen any yet, but I want to wait a bit longer to see...and if it does I'll post the pics and send the link to Candian SC.
