Problem with no boost
A friend of my dads has a '97 GTP that was getting no boost after he had his headers installed. We helped him put in rockers and a few other mods and while he was here, we made sure all of the vacuum lines were routed properly, and taped up one with a crack in the end, and he got boost. It was that simple. It could easily be something to that affect. I would bet large sums of money that it isn't a major problem at all. I am thinking vacuum lines or boost controller. There isn't much else it could be. The boost controllers are DIRT cheap too. (like $7 IIRC) Replace that, and check all the vacuum lines, and it should be fine.

You know I don't recall hearing any SC whine at WOT, but then again I was too business paying attention to the gauge to see what was going on so I may not have noticed it.. If we come to an agreement, I'm gonna take the care out again to give it another once over. I do appreciate the help guys, and thanks for directing me here Freek. I'm feeling confident that it isn't anything major. So where is the best and least expensive place to get one of these BCS? What is IIRC?
Thanks
Thanks
Boost Bypass or Wastegate Valve for 96-present:
The one you're looking at seems as if it'* stuck in bypass. It'* located under the engine cover, just forward of the Throttle Body end of the SC. It'* a small black case with some small vacuum fittings on it. Check for leaks, disconnected hoses, and smack it a couple times to make sure it'* not stuck. Follow the vacuum lines to the manifold on the top of the SC, and make sure they're intact.
That part is available at the dealer for $30, www.gmpartsdirect.com for $17.83 plus shipping.

well I spoke to the guy this weekend. We're trying to get together on price. Other then the Supercharger issue the car needs Brakes and rotors & a driverside mirror as his was cracked. So he said he wants to get an estimate on what it would all cost before negotiating.. so he should be calling me sometime this week or weekend. :keep fingers crossed:
WTF The guy was supposed to get an estimate for the things and call me this past week. So today comes and I still haven't heard from him. SO I call him to see what the deal is and he says he changed his mind and is going to keep the car. WTF at least give me a call to let me know.. people **** me the phock off!
