If you're getting a 3.4 pulley,the correct belt is the 715

May I suggest not using a Gatorback belt? I've haven't had the best luck with them stretching and wear wise. But others have had no problems at all with them.

I was about to say that exact same thing...

Dayco has the same pattern as the Gators and is lower cost...seems to treat me great.

Like Dbeast....I've been running it with a 3.4 for 6-8 months..never slipped..never given me a moments worry.

I just 'finished' a long-term (4-month) test of Gates Micro-V and Gatorback on my two cars. The Gates belt loads up the pulley grooves with debris and makes noise. When I removed them from the SSEi last night, I had to get all the rubber buildup out of the pulley grooves with a brush. The SLE, which had Gatorbacks, had clean pulleys. When comparing the two, the Gates belt was longer. They started out the same length. Keep in mind however, that my SC pulley and Alternator pulley are smaller than just about anyone'* pulleys here, and it'* hard for a belt to turn such a tight radius sometimes.

I'll stick with Gatorback from now on I think. The relief cuts give it grip, allow the debris to be taken out of the grooves, and also allow the belt to turn a smaller radius.

As far as the Dayco is concerned, my knowledge of them is that the cuts across the 'tread' are perpendicular to the edge of the belt, not diagonal like the Gatorbacks. I may be wrong on this (I know there'* a brand out there like this).

They are not perpendicular...slight angle..

When looking for belts..I noticed they are nearly identical to Gators.

May have to look closer at those, especially if the price is under the $30 Gatorback price. It'* not out of the question that GoodYear makes them.
