Default nose bearings

I got bearings for the SC nose and wondering if it matters that I leave the rubber seal on the ball bearing or should they be open.

There should be no shroud. Sounds like the wrong bearings to me. SC oil must be able to freely flow all the way to the nosedrive seal through both bearings.

Also I thought the nose side of bearing was sealed, no? And I was only changing them cause I was in there so I can leave them if we are not sure.I have the front bearing too 6203 but need to press it in I think so I was leaving it.

The set I recently got from Rolling Performance did not have seals on them. Just the nose drive seals. I'd take them off if they were meant to come off.

The bearings are the same, with and without the seal. The seal is added when the bearing is self lubricated and will be exposed to the open environment such as the bearings in alternators. Removing the seal is okay, however, take a can of Brake Cleaner and spray the bearing to remove the lubricant that was put at the factory since it will contaminate the SC oil and may not be compatible.

You can't just pull the front bearing. If you go in there, do both bearings and the seal. Don't waste your time trying to do just one.
