Default M62 ideas..

Ok, i have my used blower sitting around, and i would sell it for the right price. But it got me thinking.

Does the M62 on the bonneville have the same mouting footprint as an M62 in a toyota? Because i bet those guys would have some IC options available...

Long shot? yes. But hey, they all are! If nothing else someone could hit up an MR-2 board and see if they know stuff we don't.

There'* a much cheaper option in the works......but go ahead and look into it. I believe they're a newer gen M62 than we run. It'* a big longshot. EGR, PCV, vacuum, all these may be in different locations or not even there.

Nevertheless, it'* worth looking into. What do they run?

Looking at the MR2 pics with Gordy right now. From what I see, there'* not a chance in hell. Still poking at it, though.

FYI, I have an M62 literally in my lap at this very moment.

From the little I can see in those pics at Track Dog, it'* not even a long shot.

We have......

wrens67: That plate covers the bottom of the SC. What do we do with the following ports:
wrens67: PCV, VAC, Wastegate, EGR, etc. They all have to go through the IC plate somehow to get to the lower intake manifold.
wrens67: 8 ports total.
ssei1995: yea, but this was just a thought
wrens67: That would have been cool, though. No pun intended.
ssei1995: ;lol

arent the new cobalt and red line powered by the m62... i also thought that the m62 was used as a power-adder for the current 2.2 ecotecs,,...

Yes, the new GM offerings are using the M62. The Cobalt from Chevy and the Pontiac Solstice.

An important factor to consider is that it'* not simply an M62 issue. Auxiliary ports for cooling, EGR, PCV, vacuum and bypass all need to be matched to the lower intake manifold. We have a V6. They are I-4. Not gonna work, and they don't have Intercoolers yet anyway.

Probably won't need it with an M62 feeding a 4-banger.

You HAVE to take into account all the physical design constraints when looking at this. And you'll have to trust me on this. I've been working on this exact same problem for 18 months with regards to the M62. Hundreds of hours of investigation and lately, many hours of design.

There is no compatible IC for the M62. Patience is what we need right now, as some new stuff is in the works as we speak.

Actually, I think I had read somewhere that the new Cobalt was gong to come stock with an intercooler. Maybe it was just rumor though who knows.
