Default Costs of replacing 1999 supercharger by myself??

I got the loan for the 1999 SSEi. Everything seems good, but when I test drove it again I found the clinking whir to be coming from the supercharger beign on it'* way out. I tried to point that out to the seller, but to no avil as far as price went (I've only got him down to $5500).
It sounds like a bearing in the main body of the sc, not in the nose drive.
I found I can get a good used or rebuilt charger for $150-500 including the intake and TB gaskets. What doe you guys think of Canadian Superchargers? They are only 175 miles from Grand Forks, ND where I go to visit my friend 2-3 times a semester.
What other costs are involved with the sc change?
How hard is it to replace (I am not a beginner mechanic, but neither am I a pro)? I am willing to give it a try as I have successfully replaced a tranny in my old 1987 Dodge Lancer turbo and head gasket in my 1988 Lebaron Turbo.
Anyhow, any advice, information would be greatly appreciated.
I told the guy I was going to have to do some research into it and I would like to get ahold of him Monday and purchase the car (I have my fingers crossed that he may come down another $100 as that'* what it will cost for the tabs which are due in 1 month -or February).
Thanks very much in advance,
Martin

Canadian Supercharger is one of our preferred vendors. Check the links page

The swap is easy. Only costs are gaskets, seals, and o-rings. HOWEVER.......make damn sure this is a problem. I've never seen an Eaton fail for anything other than a leaky seal or coupler. Is the problem only at idle? Is there slop in the pulley with the belt off (car not running )???

$5,500 seems like a good price, is the Supercharger the only thing wrong?

Even if you do have to do the bearings it'* not a big deal, there are several how to'* on the supercharger rebuild. Really, this is no big deal

I highly doubt its the blower like you think. Probably the snout or an idler or something. If it is the blower though, $175 is cheap, and the install is fairly simple, and all you should need is a new upper intake manifold gasket, and throttle body gasket. Other than that, everything else should be reuseable. I would still go ahead and buy the car, that is a killer deal, even if the blower is bad.

Well, there are a few other things wrong with the car that I can tell, but nothing too big -just a few dings and scratches here and there, non-working power antenna, and the display bulb for the radio is burnt out. So in other words other than the noise I am hearing everything else is purelly cosmetical.
Thanks much guys.
I am going to go ahead and buy it, and take it right in and get the problem pin-pointed. Then I'll put my gearhead and tool running hands on.
I'll let you guys all know how it go'*.
