Default Changing SC oil?

is this hard to do and what oil is would people here suggest? Would I be better off taking it to a shop and having them do it and if so what would be the aprox cost?

It'* easy. The hardest part is dealing with the smell of the old oil.

On my 92 and 94 SC'*, a 4.5mm allen wrench is needed for the oil plug. Then siphon the old oil out. A baster or something should work to suck it out. Put in fresh oil to the bottom of the treads of the hole. You will need a little more than a bottle, probably. Buy a few extra if you want to flush it with clean oil a time or two.

It'* very very easy to do. You just need something to suck the old oil out.

Oh ok, I was assuming you had a Series II engine. However, the procedure is very similar and easy to do.

Good words of wisdom there. Do not get the old on your clothes or anything, you will not get the smell out.

gmparsdirect.com has the oil for $3.95 bottle plus shipping. The part # is 12345982. List is $6.92 at your local dealer who should have some in stock. gmpartsdirect is cheaper but it takes about two weeks to get your order and thier shipping is a little pricey.
