Castrol WHAT for cleaning rotors?
I've got the rotors here out of my old 99 case, along with a new case to port and install these rotors in and I want to clean the rotors before I reassemble it. What is that Castrol product I've heard mention of for cleaning the rotors?
I know I should take it easy on them and definitely will considering how there is practically 0% rotor coating missing, but there is abit of junk on them. |
Leave them dirty, it adds a tad more effiency to the SC.

Agreed, do not clean them. if you clean them you take the chance of cleaning the lubrication from the bearings on that plate as well.
A better seal is derived from the way the are right now. |
To answer your question it's Castrol Super clean.

i cleaned my rotors... sue me
|
If you clean them, they'll be gunked back up in about 2000 miles. No loss in cleaning, other than a loss of Castrol Super Clean.
I use it anyway, so I can see the condition of the rotors/case I chose for the car. I can mix/match quality parts by seeing the blemishes better. If you don't have more than one SC, there's no real point to this. |
I cleaned mine up to, all I used was citrus engine degreaser, worked EXCELLENT!

Can you swap rotors into a different casing or are they matched :?:
|
You can. But I'm not sure I'd try it on a GenV. I've done it on a Gen2, and boosty has done it on a Gen3.
|
Good. Then my old Gen 3 has some hope of revival........for someone else, if the Gen 5 makes me happier. ;)
