Default Boost Problem?

Can someone tell me some reasons behind a boost problem? I thought it was the coupler, but I read that it doesnt affect performance.

Any ideas? The car has been sitting for a year or two. It stalls when cold and when you let off the gas at low speeds.

I tried to look up boost control solenoid, I think someone mentioned that, could that be a problem?

Most problems with low boost are the boost control solonoid. I've seen half a dozen solved here that way. This is commonly referred to as the 'wastegate' and is a 30 dollar part.

What are your symptoms?

Well when I hit the gas WOT, the cars boost won't kick in. Instead it will just sputter, then I'd have to let go of the gas. Drives fine when the boost meter is less than half way over.
I can't figure out what it is. Coil pack? Boost control solenoid? Leak?

If the engine sputters when the boost gage reads above 0 PSI, this happened to my '92 and in my case it was due to bad plugs/wires. The engine was missing, and it was only noticeable when the engine was under load.

On a side note, if you rev the engine in park or neutral, the wastegate opens and the boost gage will only read up to 0 PSI. This is normal.

REally?? it'* the spark plugs and wires?? That'* exactly what happened to mines, it'* only when its under load and when boost is above 0.

I think I replaced those already though...I'll check again however.

I don't think so, I dont notice anything on that dash display thing...

Where can you get a boost solenoid?
They dont sell them at the dealer.
I replaced my sparkplugs and wires.

Anything else besides the boost solenoid?
MAF sensor? How do I know if thats the problem?
