Default xenon bulbs for our cars

I was at Wally World aka Wallmart and saw these Xenon bulbs (9005 and 9006) for Trucks and SUV'*.What are the advantages of xenon over the Silverstars. The bulbs where made by Sylvania, or was it General Electric I have the silverstars and wondered what the difference would be

The difference would be that you loose the amount of light being emmited. Silverstars are the best DOT legal bulbs you can get probably.

Agreed, however I would have used the Naxos that you sent me Seth, granted they worked...80 W didn't work...

But..ya Silverstars are the best way to go and it keeps it nice and legal

I wouldnt get those bulbs unless you are gonna use them for show. The cops would have a field day. Plus I can only imagine how poor you lighting would be.

Siler Stars are also Xenon. They have an optical coating in addition, though. Xenon is the gas inside the bulb of many halogens available today.
