I'm thinking this is probably my problem too.
Couple of questions, In the two posts each one pulls the carpet out. One method removes the seats carpet seats everything the other method does not.

1) Do I really need to pull the seats, console?? Sure is a lot of work and those retainer bolts for the seat are a hassle to get out. Think their corroded in place.

2) If I don't have to pull the seats, is there a trick to getting the carpet out and back in without screwing it up?

I'm ready to get after this thing but still need to drive the car after I'm done. LOL

Sure, you could probably get to it if you wanted to hack the carpet. I might have tried that if I didn't have wet carpeting.

Since my carpet was soaked I wanted to pull out it anyway. That requires the seats and console to come out. Really not that big of a deal, just take your time and don't break stuff.

I figured I had to look at my sunroof drain connections in the kick-panel area, something had to be leaking for the carpets to be so wet. That repair is a whole lot easier with the seats out of the way, relatively, it's still a pain in the arse. See all the details here https://www.gmforum.com/t250619.

Both of my front tubes were disconnected. I even took the headliner down and checked everything around the sunroof, also easier without seats.

I put the driver seat back in so I can drive the car to work while I decide what I'm going to do about the carpet. Here is a picture with the seat all the way forward and raised up. Should be easy to slit the carpet and splice in a new section of wire. The offending connector is in the area circled in the picture.
