Default Warning... Rear Tail Lamps... ???

K 94 SSEI... occasionally... more often than not lately... starting to get on my nerves lol

the car warning light display thingy... doors open, hood open, etc... mine has been saying rear tail lamps and underlining the car... now i would normally freak out thinking my lights are out... but its a short for the display or im just not understanding it... my tail lights work, brake lights work, signals work, reverse lights work, no shorts in any bulbs, no burnt out light bulbs... but the display keeps comming up... checked the fuses too

i suspect some short... duh... my interest is WHERE specifically should i start looking for the short? the sockets? some control module? just the wires in the car (lol dont say that please) need a starting point and i dont kno where

if anyone has info.. please respond
thanks

I had a problem like this a few years abck. Turned out being a bad bulb in the trunk lid brake lights. I changed that bulb and the problem was gone. I would start there.

Any time. There is a write up on how to change those bulbs in the tech info area.

If it'* not a bulb (as in my case), I'd suspect the connector not far from the light. If not, then oh boy.. could be an unhappy piece of wire anywhere.

think it was the bulb... got to playing with the driver side trunk mount lights and switched out one of the L194 mini bulbs and havent had a problems with it... yet... knock on wood and say a prayer it was just a bad connection with the bulb...
