Default Unknown sensor unused?

I can't find a pic of it but I have a sensor.......thing.... that isn't connected to anything.

It sits between and forward of the left front fuel injector and the center fuel injector, mounted to a braket there. It is a black box about 1 1/2" by 2". It has a larger hose-like connection on the left side (passenger) with a triangular opening and two smaller line connections on the right side. It also has the sensor plug connector on the right side. Says Delco Remmy on it.

I've only found supercharged pics of the motor and they don't have it. It is a non-fuctioning item because nothing is hooked to it. It is just mounted there.

Any clues?
Thanks.
Lee

I believe that is a EVAP canister solenoid that they used on the 95 L36. It should be connected, but it may have failed before and someone blocked it off. Can you take a picture of the current setup that someone did to block it off?

Pinks..you are on fire this week.

That is the evap purge soleniod. Although.. 95/96 probably also have a evap purge switch located near the thermostat housing (top radiator hose meets engine)

Yep, that is it. I have the other car today so I'll have to look later at where the lines go instead of there. I don't think there is a sensor plug or wiring for it. None near it as I recollect.

Thanks much for the pics! You guys are great. Shouldn't take me too long to get this thing purring like my old Regal. That poor thing, motor/tranny has about 250K and it is still bulletproof. Only the rest of the car is disintegrating around it.

Evap does have one connector that should be hooked up. The vacuum is one line to the canister and one to the TB
