Default Still will not start

I had a few previous posts recently regarding why my 2001 SLE will not crank. I took it to a shop, and they are stumped as well. They suggested having it towed to the dealer. Do the chimes have anything to do with the operation of the vehicle? I noticed mine chiming four times then repeating. I never noticed this before. I checked all battery connections, changed the ICM, checked the coils, fuel pressure is good, no codes (shop used scan tool).
Before complete 'no start', it would sputter at idle for a second, then die, but it always started right back up. It had been doing this for about a month.
Because it wont show any codes, could that mean the computer is bad and wont hold any?

Most likely it'* something simple. Could be a PCM...however uncommon they may be for failure.

Please 01 SLE in your signature under your profile to help out in the future. Thanks

I have heard it could be that. I hate to change it out and it not be.

I added that info to my signature. Good suggestion, thanks.

My 95 had similar symptoms. The Park/Neutral switch was loose and there was a loose feed wire to the relay center.

is the security light on the dash illuminated??
do you hear the fuel pump prime?

it could be the FPR being the description of it starting then dying, then starting right up

When I turn the key to 'on', after all the lights go off, the only one still lit is the SES light. Yes, I hear the fuel pump and have 45lbs on the rail. I checked for spark...none, and checked injectors with a noid light...nothing. The car has a strong crank.
