i just got an auto dimming mirror from ebay, which also has built in the onstar buttons and mirophone, my question is does anyone know what modules or processors, this onstar system needs, bsides an antenna and power, is the system all containd inside the miror, does anyone have a pinout of this system including onstar wiring, any info would be much appricatied, by the was im putting this mirrio into a 1992 SE bonneville,

It needs everything your 92 isn't compatible with.....including an OBD2 PCM.

There'* no realistic way to make it work. That sucker interfaces with all sorts of stuff in the car.

Yeah, I dont really know of a system that OnSTar doesn't intergrate into. You've see the commercials where they can tell your position, detect a crash, airbag deployment, unlock doors, etc... so I would that it would be impossible to hook that up to your car

The cars that are equiped woth OnStar normally use serial communications systems. Buying a new car would be cheaper.

Try looking for aftermarket systems.

Or perhaps stick with the more basic car, i've found my stupid car can sometimes outsmart a smart car. Sometimes humans are smarter than computers ... sometimes.

what if the government decides people don't need to be driving around today, because of say a national emergency? they invade the onstar control center and shut down everybody'* cars and lock them out

okay maybe they can't completely lock us out...yet
