This is a good time to say that the FSM is priceless in this situation.
They show the circuit, where the wires are run, where they get power/ground and everything else. Ebay is a good source for low cost used FSM's. ;) |

Since your thread is basically complete and problem solved. This is the actual GM manual that dealerships use to find/fix issues.
