Shift indicator light bulb Help
OK, now that I know that it'* the dots that are not working, that has a separate bulb that illuminates the dots...at least if it'* anything like a '93. I'm don't remember 100% of it'* location, but it may be barely visible in the lower center of this picture.

The lamp is occasionally good, but the wiring gets worn through, then breaks and no longer works. I remember it being a PITA to get to.

Thanks Spit, Archon and BillBoost37 for your help. The wires were severed. I didn't see this the first time I went in.
I found a total of 4 wire in the taped loom. there was a black and a red that I hooked back up to the light to get it to work. I also found another black and red that come together and are crimped where they broke. It is on the same circuit. I know this because it grounded on me and popped the fuse. The shift indicator light and key chime went out.
The only other options I have in the center console are the cigarette lighter (works) and the Traction control button (Doesn't work) But even when it lighted up it never actually worked and it has two connectors of wires coming to it already.
Do you guys have any idea what it goes to
Did you ever get this resolved? I would swear that I posted another reply a week ago but I don't see it here. I"m thinking that you hadn't found the 2nd bulb up to the time of your last post...that is probably where the extra wires go. In the attached photos the bulb your holding in your hand looks like the one that lights up the letters P R N D 3 2 1. There is a 2nd bulb in a very similar type of holder and cover...although I think the cover is black and the bottom grey. It'* really buried down below the the shifter..it has to line up with the little dots. There is a small opening at the top and it is attached to the shifter arm as it moves it moves and the light passs through that little hole, it lines up with those small black tubes (fibre optic?) that look like so much spaghetti... you can see them in the same photos. My wires were broken off also. I had to splice in a small section of telephone wire to give me enough slack to work with.. it'* kind of a PITA.
If you did find the bulb and did get it to light up..the extra set of wires may not go to anything. On some more full featured Bonnies there are some additional power seat switches that go in that vicinity and I suppose there could be some wires/wiringin harness there that your car doesn't use.

I just taped the extra wires up and left them in there. Funny thing is it'* another set of black and red wires and they are crimped together. That'* the way I found them. I thought it might be a set of ground wires. But they are power wires for something. Maybe for what you are thinking, I don't have the power seat controls in there (that'* on each seat) Maybe this is the power for it even though it'* not there.
