Default Security Lights stays on if started w/ seat belt unbuckled

If I start my 2000 without first buckling the seat belt, the security light comes on and stays on (even after buckling the seat belt). Anyone expereinced this before or have any clues? Seem that the security light will also come on very intermittenently for no apparent reason.

I start my 2000 SLE all the time without the seatbelt buckled...(yes, I buckle up before driving) and have never had the security light come on. Which trim level is your 2000? (If you ad this to your profile signature (year and trim level) it will appear automatically on your posts.)

There shouldn't be any link between the security light and seatbelt not buckled. You may have a glitch in the security system though. I'll try to research it in the FSM.
