bottom, middle, it is a 20amp, I think there are only two on the bottom row. this controls the locks, lights, and alarm. I believe it is fuse 11.. but don't quote me on that

If you are talking about a fuse in the fuse box..... it isn't that.
I've tried every possible fuse in the box that might be related to the security light.... none turned it off.... even the dash lights fuse didn't.

I have a few options in my shop manual.. some are completly irrelavent, but I just feel like typing them all out.

A) System Will not arm; Indicator flashes after door switch is locked
B) System will not arm; Indicator stays on after door is closed
C) System will not cancel arming when door lock switch is unlocked
D) System will not disarm with Door Key
E) Alarms will not operate; system arms
F) Only the Horn or some lights operate when alarm is activated [horn and all lights work when operated from their switches]
G) Starter interrupt doesn't work; Alarms operate
H) SECURITY indicator doesn't work
I) False Alarm
J) Starter motor will not operate
K) SECURITY indicator flashes when ignition ON and a door open or system will not disarm when the ignition is turned ON.

Yes, sorry; I missed that detail.

I think the next thing I'd check here is whether the door switches are all opening properly when the doors are closed. That is, when you open a door, the switch closes to turn on (via grounding) your interior lights, and also to flag the security system that a door is open. When you close the last door, all relevant switches should be open at that point, and the security system should no longer blink its light at you.

I assume your interior lights are working properly when any single door is open? If you can rule that out, I'm wondering whether one of the security wires is grounding to the body somewhere. On your '91, do you have pin switches in the doors to turn on the interior lights, or is that done elsewhere? (e.g. plunger switches in the door pillar or at the door latch?)

First thing I tried was all the doors, to see if the dome lights & DIC worked for all of them, which they did.

The car was actually in the local car audio shop today, getting the CompuStar system replaced (the brain was faulty). When they had the dash apart I asked them to look for any fuses by the gas pedal. They found two 25s.... I asked him to pull one... the first one he pulled turned off the SECURITY light.....

I put the fuse in my pocket, and I'm going to run it like that for a while.... see what happens. So far so good... no security light.

I can't think of any factory fuses that would be hanging out by the gas pedal like that. Maybe they found an aftermarket wiring snafu connected to the interior lighting circuit; obviously I'm just guessing here.

So is your Security system working properly now, otherwise?

My factory security system is not working at all.... the security light never comes on for any reason now. Which is the way I want it.

I went searching thru several posts here on the BC and I did find one or two that mention a lone fuse to the left of the radio (ie above the gas pedal) that controls the factory alarm.

since i've had my whole interior in shambles.. I can tell you my '89 definatly does not have a fuse near the radio.. the only places for fuses on her is the fuse box, and the relay center. your '91 may differ, as there have been a few changes from 88-91 on the bonne'* [i'm excluding '87, because there were major changes from '87 to '88]. The only thing that keeps my security light solid is when i lock the doors from the inside electronically, but only from the driver'* door, and until I close the door it is solid. once the door closes, it shuts off. If the lights work.. and shut off with the door, there must be a problem with the actual control center of the alarm.

off topic, but you guys know the flashing led'* that flash with the alarm being armed? well what if I where to have those on all 4 doors, and have the security light flash with the led'*? how much amperage would that draw? and how long would it take to kill a 690cca battery?

ugh... sad to say I think I found the source of my problems....

Drivers door is screwed.... it doesn't close/open properly.... the latch inside it moves freely and you have to manually set it... otherwise it just bounces open.

I suspect this might be the cause of the security light issue....
I just noticed it when I went to open the door, the button felt wrong, not enough resistance.... ugh

it'* probably a GM part too

That would be consistent with my theory about why the light kept on blinking, yes. Why it wasn't also leaving your interior lights on, I'm not sure; I sort of assumed that the lights and security system would share the same door switch, but apparently not.

I actually believe there are 3 switchs for the doors.
There is the one for the couresty light (easy to access) and I believe two inside the door, one for DIC and one for security.
