Default seats and center console on 1994 ssei

I have a 94 ssei and am the seat and center console are acting up. The seat will not move and the center console will not switch shift types. I have taken out all of the seats and cannot find any "problems" from a visual inspection of all wiring. Anyone have any experience with anything like this? Also, does anyone have the wiring diagrams for the console and seats? Thanks for any help.

You mention acting up. Do any of the controls for the seats work at all? If none work, we would aim you to check the fuse.

Not working for shift types. Are either of the lights lit up?

Check the black box mounted under the front edge of the driver'* seat (just below your knees, under the seat). Make sure it'* connected. When you select a function, can you hear or feel a click? That'* the relay box for the seat controls. Do any of the lumbar or side bolster (air related) functions work?

On the shift modes, is it just the indicator LED that'* burned out? Does the car shift properly in each mode? It should be slightly (200-300 rpm'*) higher in Performance shift.

Do you live near another member that can swap pods with you for troubleshooting? 92 and 93 aren't compatible. The harnesses are different.

The fuse blows when I replace it.(at $15 a pop). The lights on the center console are lit, but I have multiple lights that are lit. "Black Box" is pulled, but at $150 I would like to find a way to test it before I pay to replace it. Any way to do so? None of the seat functions work, but the seats are now out so I can get to any wiring. Thanks for any help. It is greatly appreciated!

dont know where the Hell your getting fuses for $15...but WOW find a different place....

If the black box is pulled....none of the functions are gonna work...Plug it back in and see if you can get it to click as Willwren has stated....

and if you need a new Box....they are much cheaper than 150

and your near Elmachogaracho and 1337SSEi to help ya diagnoise the problems

If the fuse will hold until you press a certain function then there is a short in one of the motors or that function relay.

If not
First thing is to check for a short to ground in the power wires to the seat and seat control with a multimeter. If that checks out ok, then put a new fuse in with the seats disconnected.

For fuses: I assume these are the large maxifuse center fuses in the engine compartment. To get a bunch cheap, it would be worth a run to the local junkyard. Many GM'* of the era used them and a handful shouldn't cost you much. That way you can continue your tests and have fuses to properly protect the circuit.

What is the fuse rating? It'* not a ckt. breaker is it? That price is way to steep for a fuse. Anyway, follow the instructions provided by BillBoost. That should reveal or localize where your problem lies.
