Default RAC and Trunk Release

A while back, I grabbed a trunk popper and a trunk release button off of a junkyard bonne. My car didnt have the option, so I hooked it up with a (-) ground from my switch, and a (+) current from my unused power radio plug in the trunk. It works, but there is nothing stopping it from opening when the car is in gear. I know this function would be controled by the RAC. Is there a certain RAC module that I could grab that would allow me to wire that safety function in? I wouldnt think that my RAC would allow me to do that.

Thanks,
Andrew

The RAC with the Keyless function works a little diffrent.. There is an Ignition on wire to the RAC, when the ignition is on the Trunk release from the FOB is rendered useless.. But the Button on the door will open the trunk with the car running as long as its not in gear.. Somewhere there must be a Park Input for the Trunk release relay..

Your 93 will be set up just about the same as my 95... But I did have the Trunk release option from the factory.. So it goes from the door to the Trunk release relay to the trunk release solenoid...
ok...lets see.

1. if illuminated entry deals with the lights coming on with the fob right? if so, then no i dont. and my accessories dont stay on after the ignition is off.
2. I never hooked up a relay in the trunk. Is it important that I have one. If so, where can I get one (like location in the trunk)?

In dealing with adding my Factory keyless, I was able to do this pretty easily as I had the Illuminated and Retained acessory functions, That was half of what was in the Keyless module..

But the wiring between the 93 & 95 have diffrent color codes... So whats in my 95 wouldn't be right for your car..

I'm not totally sure how the trunk relay works, But when I have more time... Maybe tuesday nite or wensday( if I'm not in daytona scouting the yard ) I can scan the page/* for you so you'll have a good idea of what you'll need to do... It should be a simple and straight forward circuit

And another question... Does you aftermarket keyless have any provision for Trunk release?
it does....thats what i was going to ask about the trunk relay. The aftermarket wire is always grounded and needs a relay to be functional. I am willing to bet the stock relay would be the same as the aftermarket relay i still need to get.
