I'm finishing up my LED project, and found that my high mount stop light LED bulb would only work if the wires were switched (this is called a polarized bulb, IIRC). Is it safe for me to leave these wires switched like this, or should I put them back and forget the LED bulb?

You can see the light blue and black wires that I reversed in this picture.

I'd tape up the wires seperately to keep them from touching. Better yet solder them up and heat shrink them.
Did you try taking the bulb out and spinning it 180* with the wires the original way? My LED'* are like that, if I spin them they work
