I've worked on it with him. The problem is the way it'* lit up red, and after you scrape that off, transmitting light throughout it is hard. Putting LED'* in to light it up evenly might be the easiest. But he was showing me everything there is to them, and he'll be able to help you out some more.

I have an SE dash pulled apart infront of me right now (current practice project). The problem is there is a red fill in-lay integrated into the face itself more or less.....between the actual face and the plexi-glass light dispersal plate that'* glued to the face, Pontiac or GM or whatever call it the "Light Pipe". I know this is confusing....That'* why I got pics that I'll post when I get them uploaded.

You got so close to having it perfect... I remember reading that thread long ago. So the red colour is actually a light dipersing film? hmm I should probably give up but this is way too intriguing. Ill take a look at my extra dash. Chances are I won't do half as good as you did, but it wont be the first thing ive broke while trying to make it better Great info in that thread. Do you have the other pictures posted on the web somewhere?

EDIT: 20 bucks US?
