Okay slow down a minute here....You say NOTHING! works? Does the lights work? Can you start the car? Does the radio work? Have you tried hitting the Starter? Have you checked for Spark? Have you checked the Fuel Pressure?

It IS possible that the Ignition Switch has failed & not allowing you to start the engine. It IS also possible that the VATS module has failed & not allowing you to start the engine too. We need more info here, to help pin point EXACTLY the problem is.

I found my problem with no power to anything. After taking the steering column apart and checking the ignition switch and wires(what a waste of time). A friend noticed that i had two large ground wires on the negitive side of the battery, one was really a large positive cable going into the firewall and over to the maxfuse center that is colored BLACK...after realizing the problem I switched the (what i thought was..) two large ground wires and placed the large black wire back on the positive side of the battery together with the starter wire. This might be a problem that is common or maybe im just an idiot. I colored the cable red now and my SSE is perfect once again thanks for the reply.

Cables was gonna be my suggestion. Who'da thunk, tho, that they were hooked up wrong? I woulda bet on corrosion myself..

OMG... Hey, do we have an Emoticon around here that shows a character just plain fainting...?

How in the _world_ did somebody manage to hook up the seconday positive over on the negative terminal? I mean, I know the cable is black where it connects to the AmxiFuse/Relay center, but I could swear it'* got a red terminal at the battery end. I gotta look at mine again tonight...

Not me, AFAIK.

I'm still trying to figure out how you could have cross-connected a positive onto the negative without immediately blowing your battery sky-high. Maybe the second cable terminal never actually made a connection to the original one underneath it...?
