Default No Hud display

Hello I am new to this site and am about ready to buy a 2000 Bbonnevlle SSIE and one of the problem on it is the hud does not display anything. Is this a very expense fix or something simple, like a fuse or something or bad ground.

Tyically we find that people not using the hud will turn the brightness all the way down/off and or adjust the image out of their field of view. I'd suggest locating and turning the brightness all the way up. Then sitting in the seat and moving the image all the way up and down until you see it and adjust to your liking.

Another trick is when it'* darker out..adjust the brightness all the way up and look into the display from outside the car. You should see the glow if it'* working.

OK, it will help us help you if we know all of the details, including things that you have already tried. The HUD gets its power from the IGN3 fuse (34), and the IP fuse (30) in the rear fuse box. You can check those, but if either of those were blown, I'd expect you would have problems in other areas. This link HUD should help you out.

I had someone adjusted the intensity from min to max and also tried adjusting the image up and down while I looked through the windshield. I did not see anything glowing or even seeing the mirror move. I will check out the fuses later. Thanks for the link to the HUD information I will that inof out.

The climate control works fine I have not had time to check the fuses out yet. Been hooked up with other work but this weekend I hope to get a chance to work on it. I have another question.I bought a radio from Ed Moran for basically the LCD display, Ed said it lights up okay but could not test the CD because it was lock out. The question is can you take the radio down to the dealer and have them unlock it without the VIN codes or the original car. Then install it into mind?

yes what you need to do is install the radio in the car, and then have the radio programmed to your VIN

Well, I decided to replace the radio faceplate with the salvage radio. I took the radio top off and then removed the cassette player and it made it allot easier to get to the cable connectors. I popped the radio back in now I got all of my radio indications. I also check the fuses ( IGN3 fuse (34), and the IP fuse (30) for the HUD) and they checked okay. I guess I'll buy a service manual and start reading.
