Have 1996 SSEi with ECC. Have no fan blowing at all-- fan control will indicate from slowest to fastest setting without blower motor being on at all. Is their a fuse for the blower or is there anything else I should be looking for? l

Sounds like the same problem the guy who bought my old 1999 SSEi had. Open the hood and tap on the blower motor housing. If it comes on the motor needs to be changed.

hi i have a 97 se bonnevile it was doing the same thing to me and i replace the blower motor and then it worked very good now check every thing first then take out the blower and have it tested see if its good or bad

Thanks guys, hit the housing around the blower motor and it took right off. Sounds like I'll be replacing the blower motor soon.

Actually if it runs after a thumping, it just needs cleaning. I mean, you gotta pull it out either way, for cleaning or replacement, but if you're on a budget, it _will_ respond to a good blast of brake cleaner, carb cleaner or what-have-you through the cooling hole(*) and wherever else you can sneak a spray nozzle into. Aim especially for the commutator and brush mounts; try and get visibly shiny contacts as best you can. Then dribble a drop or two of oil onto the shaft bearings and button it all up again.

P.*. Make sure the little rubber cooling-duct elbow doesn't get lost in between removal and replacement. Make sure it'* properly clipped into the hole in the side of the blower housing, and that the other end is plugged onto the evaporator housing where it should be.
