need help with my actron cp9110 & cp9115. error in conne
hi i just got my actron cp9110 and i just got a cable made from a fellow bc member named (slug) and he sent me the cable and i tried it and it worked for about 4 or 5 seconds then just started reading
error check connections
try again
yes or no
and when i hit yes it gives me the same message. so i got a second plug made fron slug and it did the same exact as the first. it worked for about 6 seconds then repeated the same message over and over every time i tried a diffeent feature and test from the code scanner.? does anyone no what it could be. is it my connection under the steering.? or is the plugs that slug made possibly be burning out? the actron is powered throuh the computer connector and does not need a power supply.

ok so i tried again and i got the same message and ofcourse it did not work. but i did notice that the manual says that one of the reasons the scanner may not work is because of a wrong computer in the car. the manual said that the computer mar run the car but may not be compatable to be read by the scanner. i just replaced my pcm if yous rember..
here is my theory.. in the code scanner i keep selecting my vin is a k. out of options (k) or (1). but that works thru the computer. what im selecting k like my vin # is but what if the computer i put in is a different vin.? any suggestions? thanks. i did take my chip out of my bad pcm and put it in the new pcm before i made the switch..the new pcm was one fron another 95 bonneville as well.....

vin 1 is for a different engine.
Forget it. You're not supercharged, and it would STILL try to communicate just the same.
Find Bill Buttermore'* post about how to make the cable, and use an ohmmeter to shoot it out and verify the pins. If it checks good, my bet is you bought a bum scanner.
