Default NEED HELP!!!!!

the 1994 SSE has been having problems. sometimes it will start, sometimes it won't. Code reader indicates trouble code of: P1670 and description from code reader is QDM4. We replaced computer but its only partially fixed the problem. Sometimes the MAF sensor has to be pulled to crank it and sometimes it has to be plugged back in to get it to crank.

I am trying to avoid having to put it in the shop AGAIN and would really appreciate any help anyone can offer me!!

Any chance your code reader reads MAF signals?

I don't see a DTC listing that matches that code. Are you sure about it? Does your code reader have anything specific on that number?

I don't have my scantool to refer to......I left it with DrJay in WA. Maybe he can chime in here.

I'm only aware of 2 QDM'*. Unless the 94/95 hybrid PCM'* are different. (Quad Driver Modules).

I've contacted DrJay and asked him to check my scantool and docs.

Quad driver 4 - The quad driver is located inside the PCM. The quad driver consists of four separate electronic switches used by the PCM to energize verious solenoids and relays.

The PCM checks the condition of the quad driver switch output and displays either LOW (switch is on) or HIGH (switch is off).

Note that this display is indicating the actual condition of the switch output and NOT the command given to the switch by the PCM.
