Yup that is what I wound up doing at the end. I am quite happy with the trunk like that. Less electrical things to worry about.

Also for future reference try starting a new post, even if it is a similar problem to other threads. You will get better exposure with a fresh thread and we can try to cater to your specific issue better.

Hi. Can you please explain how you turn the gear? Do you have to dissassemble the motor somehow? How do you know its set to the right height? Will it stay in this position? Do you reconnect any of the wires to make the motor live? Thanks
