Default my key fob

I noticed the other day that my keyless entry fob won't open the trunk anymore. It will still unlock and lock the doors like usual, but it won't open the trunk. The button on the door still works, and everything else works fine. what'* wrong with it? Do I need a new fob?

I just pulled the back off of it, and found a chip. This chip is scaring me. Just pull it off?

What do you mean by "chip". Integrated Circuit chip? Chip of plastic? Chip you took a picture of so we can get a better idea?

I pulled the back of the FOB off using the 1 screw on the back, and saw 2 batteries on top of a green computer chip. I have NO idea about ANY electronics, I'm afraid to touch this thing.

My car did the EXACT same thing. I needed a new RKE. Look thru your owners manual and see if there is a way to reprogram the FOB/car, like when you press the lock button, how you can change the way it responds. The lighs flash, the hor crirp or however. To switch thru the modes, you need to use the trunk button oin the fob. My old one, would switch thru the modes, but would not open my trunk.

Then, if it' the RKE, pm Boosty

Pull of the rubber pad so you have the roung green circuit board. On the opposite side of where the battery is,

When I get home, I'll post some pics. I have a very hard time trying to explain things
