Kill switch?

I agree here about the club. Not only will the club stop them from taking the car, but it will also let them know that momma does not want them to take her car. That keypad looks kinda nifty, but easy to yank out and cross wires. Hidden switch with the VATS is okay I guess, but what if they see her flippin the switch?
Stick with the club, if she see'* them monkeying with it, she can beat them over the head with it. Yea, jail time works too!!
Good idea. Remember, they are only trying to DETER a couple of kids from taking the car for "a joy ride". Not trying to prevent a professional thief from outright stealing the car.
of course better means of security should be taken in order to prevent theift but the club should suit "junior" just fine

why not just wire a switch inline with the fuel pump fuse. that way the car will die right when they get it out the driveway and have to explain what they are doing.
edit: it may not even get out of the driveway. just die right after it starts, depends on how much fuel is in the line and if there is enough fuel pressure...but knowing kids they will throw her in N and roll it out into the street
buy the smallest switch you can at radio shack and hide it under the dash.
edit: as wren says below make sure the switch you pick will be able to handle your application.

when i said smallest i ment in size. i assumed he would get one that could handle the 'proper voltage and current flow'. however i realize if you are posting this question you probably don't know much about electronics. thank you for adding that wren.
imo the fuel fuse kill switch is the easiest solution to the problem. or get the kids under control. i would never dream of taking out a parents car in the middle of the night. for simple fear of the wrath i would receive if i was caught. respect would be a close second on why not to steal my parents car. i'm not telling her how to parent her kids. but to me it sounds like they lack discipline.
if she really wants to teach them a lesson she should stay awake and when the car is gone report it stolen.

I have to agree with Max on this one: If the car "grows legs", the cops are called. One night in jail I think would make anyone think twice on doing something like that again...anywho, I no one metioned it, (I did not see it) there should be an ignition fuse that stops spark if I'm not mistaken. I like the keypad and VAT'* combined...Outstanding!

I sort of diagree with you max. If you cut off jsut fuel, then the car will still crank. Personally I dont like to crank the car over and over with no fuel going through the system. And we both know that it is likely that they would crank it over for a while.

CorvetteCrazy; you do post a good point. If someone wants to get out, It would crank for a while. I think I will leave this to the experts...I have a 97 not a 93.

I'm more on the vats swtich. Vats was designed by GM to stop the car from leaving the scene period.
If they get out to the road and leave the car there, dark and dead...another car comes along and you might jeopardize lives.

I did this on a few of my cars before. I've found the Starter Solenoid wire (usually a purple wire) is the best solution. If they try to start the car...It wont crank at all. The problem is hiding the switch for it.
I haven't tried this yet, but as an idea:
Try to wire the kill switch to one of the radio buttons on the steering wheel (Thats if she doesn't use them) I have an aftermarket HU and dont use mine for anything.
Another idea is to buy a flush mounted rocker switch, paint it the color of the car, and mount it inside of the door frame. As she goes to get in her car, she would have to press the rocker switch, then close the door once she is in.
Wherever it is located...the kids shouldn't ever see her pressing it. So under, on or around the dash is out of the question. Especially if the kids get in the car with her to go somewhere!
Good Luck.
