Default Keyless remote suddenly dosen't work.

I took my bonne to a friend of a friend to have my drivers side rocker replaced yesterday. Everything was fine when I dropped it off, and everything is perfect now. Except the keyless remote no longer works. I tried replacing the batteries and no luck. The only thing I do know is that the guy disconnected my battery for a long period of time. Does the transmitter need to be reprogrammed to my car? I heard about a valet switch somewhere? If there is such a switch I don't know where to look. Let me know if you have any Ideas. The locks and trunk release all work normally without the transmitter. Thanks for your help.

Well I just got done waxing the car with an orbital buffer and whalla! The remote entry now works. If you have any ideas why this would be let me know. I guess I need to know where the wires run for that box that picks up the signal. Thanks for any info anyone can give me.
