been a long day, went by a dealership about my keyless entry, they looked for 2 hours and couldnt find the problem or the receiver so the could check it, so ive completly dis assembled the dashboard and found a box with about 20 wires in it in 2 bundles could that be the elusive receiver, i certainly hope so but now comes the question will a receiver from another year or car work?? if it has power locks, and will another type of car work as well (buick, cadillac, etc...) i certainly hope so. well any help here will be appreciated, i know ive been a pain in the a** and im sorry for that but im at my wits end and really tired of trying to restore this car to its original condition, i really like it since its the end of the body style but now its becoming a little nerve racking. sorry for venting my frustration here thanks again for your help.
the keyless entry system on this body style was horrible. you can only use the module from 90-91 bonnevilles, a few of the same year devilles, 1990 buick park avenues also used it. anything frmo 91 or newer from buick will not work, nor anything 92 and newer on pontiac/caddy'*. most of these fail by 100k miles. and most fail to the point it will go into programming mode, take the program, then forget it 10 minutes later.

If you open the glove box, and look up under the dash just about the center of the glove box area( a little left of the Bonneville plate on the dash ) you should be able to touch the reciever with a finger...

I have a part number for the reciever someplace.... I think it ran about $120 from GMPD without shipping... And my guess is it may take a while to get that part
