Default ip compatability

I am in the market for a new gauge cluster, and well.. I have seen a few for sale on ebay, BUT my issue here is, are all the SSE/ SSEi gauge clusters from previous and future years compatable? [ie 96 work in 89] Because I see that the layout is slightly different between the two.

Nope....you need to stick with your model year (well, at least similar chassis, i.e. '87-91). The newer ones won't even fit into your gauge cluster. Have you tried calling around to junkyards yet?
