Default HUD - need opinions...

I have a HUD display ? in my 01 SSEi. I think it used to be twice as bright on a sunny day... now it seems dim. Half as bright actually. It is impossible to see on a concrete road on a sunny day. Otherwise, it is fine in other conditions. Dealer said it was ok, but can you see it well on a bright sunny day? I thought maybe the light sensor in the HUD itself might be bad. Any opinions?
Thanx-
Doug

Bright days are tough on the visibility of the HUD. The 92-95'* were super bright and nice large numbers. 96+ is a dimmer daytime projection and I find some days it'* not visible when heading toward the sun.

I'm probably making dumb suggestions and you already know. Sunglasses that are polarized eliminate most of the light from HUD because bouncing off the windshield polarizes it horizontally. And is there an adjustment **** for brightening or dimming the display? And does it jump in brightness when the headlights turn off. I.e., car in garage and headlights turn on automatically; back out and when the headlights go off the radio and HUD switch to daytime brightness. Is that happening?

The GXP is the same way I can barely see it sometimes, I wont give up my Maui Jims to see the HUD anyways during the day so it doesnt matter to me.

I think it all depends on the quality of the sunglasses becuase if I pick up my walmart polarize sunglasses I can still see the HUD they barely reduce any glare but my Maui Jims are fricking awesome and they are crystal clear and reduce glare tremdously thus making me not able to see the HUD.
