From what I understand, the 2000+ (Except the GXP with HIRs apparently) keep the lows on with the highs from the factory. 92-99 (and earlier too, more than likely) do not.

Well, my car isn't exactly mobile right now (dead 1-2 shift solenoid) but up until it ceased to be, this new diode is still working perfectly with my relayed highs and lows.

Yup, you'll need a relay for the low beams. High beam relay is optional, only if you want to make them brighter.

I can get you pics when my car comes back home Thursday-ish. Remember though when you see them, I have a projector retrofit with relayed H1 high beams (versus your non-relayed 9005) so the whole deal is gonna look a little weird, but in essence the connections are the same for both, just power and ground.

The diode you'd need (the one I'm using now) is this one:

http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062575

276-1114

As for the relay you can buy this if you don't feel like making one yourself:

Nevermind that it says HID, the connectors are the same (9006/9005). Making your own is only fun if you're weird like I am, anyway, and with deals like that it'* not necessarily cheaper. Although you can have better quality assurance.

i went and got a 30 amp relay and a 30 amp inline fuse, i was reading on here how to wire it in there and it looks super e-z picked up the diode im doing it up tonight. from what i understand all i have to do is cut the power wires to the lows put one from the swtich side on the input then wire the other side to the out put side run wire to other light and do the same , then tap into the high light for the input then pesto lots of light, (did the fog over ride this morn) oh and wire the inline fuse and ground it out ... any clue how to get rid of my day light running lights? ... i hate them i like the auto lights but hate the dlr'* can i boot one while keeping the other?

Sounds like you've got the right idea going.

There'* probably an easier way to do this (disabling DRLs), but I know for sure that this works and it'* not too hard to do.

Any "dim setting" of the high beams, which includes the DRLs and the perimeter lighting, involves the Lamp Control Module sending out a 12V power through to the ground wire of one of the high beams, which in turn exits out the power wire of the same high beam, into the power wire of the other high beam, and then grounds out. To disable it, you can cut the factory grounds for the high beams (black wires) and make your own grounds somewhere. On my Buick, the DRL power came in through the driver'* side but Pontiac may be different.

Simply put, make your own grounds for each high beam (again, black wire) and all dim high beam modes will be disabled, but the high beams themselves will still function as normal. You will lose perimeter lighting with the high beams (like when you hit the remote to lock/unlock the car) in addition to DRLs, however.

If by auto lights you mean the car'* capability to turn the headlights on automatically, doing the above will not affect that.

Oh, and be sure to post pics of the finished result to add to the thread, if you don't mind!
