actually i did this mod, and the Brighter Headlighs, give weird cutoffs now.......

i know the lights are aimed EXACTLY the same, yet the Passenger side reflects farther out onto the road

re adjust your lights. i readjusted my lights cause the passenger side was off in the ditch and they both were a little too high.

another thing that can be done, I might try it, is the bracket that the light turns into, you could cut back the metal so you dont' have to alter the light everytime you go to replace the bulb. Not like you have to replace them that often but if you ever sell the car it will make it easier on the new owner. I'll post the pic if I do, do it

Very nice work, I'm going to be doing this soon if I don't get HID'*..You can buy all parts at autozone right? I know the car light bulb you can, thats a given I just didn't know if theysold the plugs.

Also did you ever get to cutting the metal back in the headlight?

Default headlight swap

I saw this and made my own swap. I used two high beam connectors from a parts car of mine. And then cutoff the low beam connectors. Then did a butt connector with heat shrink ability to provide a weathertight connection. This saves in having to play with the terminals if you dont want to. Also they can be bought new for $ 4 a peice from the local Analmart I then just had to snip the 9005 bulb to get it to fit in the low beam socket.I am thinking of doing the foglight trick but to top it all of , i am looking at putting relays into all the headlight and foglight circuits to insure maximum voltage to the lights. Also so saves the headlight from running the high current saving its life. Will post pics of my work later.

It'* only ever taken me a few seconds to remove the inside guide tabs on a 9005 bulb with my dremel. I've had this done on my silverado for a LONG time, probably two plus years now. The only thing I really have to contribute, is that you might keep an extra modded bulb with you, I keep a pair. 9005'* aren't rated to last nearly as long as a 9006 is. If you don't want to keep an extra bulb or pair of bulbs, you can also gut the guide pins on your 9005 that is in your high beam, that way you can swap your "high beam" into your "low beam" if one dies until you get a replacement.

Thanks for the tip! I also used Dremel tool to remove the guides inside the bulb socket.
