Default horn

Well, today I had to use my horn for the first time, and what happened? click. yeah, so I checked it out, and the relay clicks, but the horn doesn't beep. I played around the wires a bit, and nothing. Does this mean my relays burnt, or do I need a new horn? The relay does look like it'* been tampered with, as the plastic that holds it in broke off.

Try swapping another relay into its place and see what happens. You could also try running 12 volts right to the horn and see if it sounds then.

That'* a good idea, and I probably would have thought of it before if the weather wasn't like hell

I too have just recently discovered my horn isn't working :(
However, with mine it used to work when I pressed on one side of the steering wheel but not the other: now it just don't work at all
I don't hear any relay 'click' at all, however, but then again, I never did, even when the one side of the steering wheel worked
Any tips before I start tearing into things?

The same as above. Then report back with your findings.

Roger!.....Now running the 12 V direct to the horn should be a piece of cake, but is the horn relay found under the dash or on the firewall?

Horn relay is on the firewall....second relay from the passenger side, I believe. Pull off the maxi-fuse cover, then remove the "FUSE" cover from the set of relays closest to the passenger side (you have two "FUSE" covers). Inside that cover should be a sticker listing the relays and locations, but again, it should be the second relay.

Thanx, I'll check it out tonight after work....just one more question: would a relay on it'* way out account for [when the horn was still functioning] the horn only working when one side of the steering wheel pressed & not the other?... or is this a different issue altogether?

I wouldn't think so, but I am not sure. Sounds more like the contacts behind the steering wheel pad/cover may be the issue. I know on my '94, I really had to hit the "right" spot with a bit of force to sound the horn.

if I remember correctly there are actually 2 fuses for the horns. There is one on the inside and then the horn is also grouped in a large fuse in the fuse center under the hood.

Just a possibility
