HO Alternator
Does onyone know where I can get a decent HO Alt so that when I install my system it wont kill the Stock Alt?
The Stock Alt im sure is already taxed out with all of the SSEi'* accessories, and I dont want to stress it out more by adding another 100 Amp draw when I install my audio system.

I recommend the AC Delco 140 Amp with a Lifetime warrenty...you may already have a 140 on your SSEi.....

I was running the 200amp with a system and it worked out pretty good, but I'm guessing you already know, but if you are running a decent system in your car I would recomend a cap or some other power enhancement. Mine still had flickering lights with the 200amp alt (not as bad as with the stock though).

I'm running SSEi95'* 200 amp alt right now. It'* great.
I have a 1500 watt amp with 2 12'* and a 1.5 Farad capacitor, and If I get the right song on I can still get the lights to dim, but barely noticeable to anyone unless you're really looking for it.

I don't like the Idea of caps, they are just a bandaid to the real problem. If you are going to run a caps I'd get a Batcap or a Alumpro cap, they would a little different then a normal cap and should actually help. If your lights are dimming their is a good chance that you are clipping the amp and/or the driver that you are using wants alot more power then your amp can put out. An alt. rewire (to your accesory post) should take care of the lights dimming.

Can you explain this more please? I have had dimming lights ever since I installed my system in my C3. I have a redtop and 4gauge for both power and ground to the battery and a 1farad cap, and still I get dimming. I am only running a PPI2200 amp (bridged) and nothing else.
