Default Help. Door alarms

Looked at my first post this morning hoping for some replys.. i must hold some kind of record for being the only post with "0" replies. Anyway. Can someone help me please. Rear door open warnings from DIC every couple of minutes from my 2000 SLE. Does anyone know how to disconnect the warning chime ( if possible ) for a while until i get this problem sorted out ? The constant ding ding ding is driving me nuts. Thanks in anticipation.

Default yes ithis will help

first you open the door that is confusing the dic then second you unscrew the lil push pin in the door frame that makes the light come on when the doors open and third you dissconnect the wires coming fron the pin and tape them off at the tips so they dont touch any metal and leave wires hanging out of hole... dont push them back in or it will be hard to hget them.. this should dissconnect the dic from alarming door ajar sound untill you find the main problem which might be a bad relay or fuse...

The newer cars don't have the micro-switch actuated warnings located on the body. The door open, door ajar warning micro-switches are integrated into the latches internal to the door.
