I have a 1992 Bonneville with a compas in the instrument cluster. It shows North and South correctly, but on turning east from northerly heading, the compas shows turning to the west (turns the wrong way). I suppose there is a sender unit that sends the info to the display, and that unit might be upside down. Can anyone tell me the location of that unit? Something else wrong?

Do you happen to have aftermarket speakers in the car? Sub box maybe?

If so..those are likely the cause and the fix would be relocation of the module. The module is located in the trunk..up under the deck lid for the speakers.

Did the recalibration as specified in the manual, so north and south is correct and consistently so. It just turns the wrong way! The car is not home right now to take a look at the sender unit. It makes sense to me that it is upside down, so I will flip it when the car gets back here and report back. Thanks
