my foglights decided to shut themselves off last night. the fuse is good and i really couldnt picture bulbs blowing at the same time. they are ST880'* but that still dont make me think they blew out at the same time. any guesses as to what happened?

Some people change both bulbs at the same time...I've never been a fan of that. You never know how much defect is built into each one.

Bulbs creat heat and wear out. If you're gonna be under there, why not? Two matching ones will be made to the same tolerences...
