Default factory alarm problem

ok, Just got this 99 bonneville SSEI, and its been in my shop for a few days, so the doors never got locked, keys always pulled, last night, it sat outside, so the keys got pulled, and doors locked, this morning, I went to unlock the D-side door with the key {no fobs for keyless entry or remote start} so as soon as I turned the key, to unlock, and opened the door, the alarm went off!, WHOA!!, didnt know it even know it had an alarm!!, I had to pop the hood and disconect the battery to get it to stop, then reconected, and started it up, what gives? any Ideas? I noticed a security light on when this was happening so,? sorry, if I m all new to this stuff,
is the key that opens the doors and trunk, suppose to have one of those "chips" in it like the ignition key?, is doesnt, but I remember the previous owner saying something about having to get a key made....., so????? I also read here that there is a fuse to pull to at least get rid of the horns, and that fse was pulled pryer to me buying it, and I replaced it!, maybe thats why it was pulledLOL! Im at a loss, as if this car has an alarm, I should have a remot or something like for keyless entry right???
any help would be greatly apriciated!
Shawn

You have remote entry, but would need to get a replacement fob and do a little self-programming to operate it from the new fob.

Door/trunk keys do not have a chip. Do you have the owners manual? It may describe the process on how to arm/disarm the system using the door key only or when opening a door without a remote. I am pretty sure there was a way to arm/disarm the alarm using key only in the driver'* door by turning twice or something, or using the "lock/unlock" buttons on the driver'* lock switches inside. I just can't remember for sure.

I am also looking at a aftermarket remote start, do I need to get this other keyless entry fob and reprogram it before I go ahead with the new remote start/keyless entry fobs???
Sorry, if Im being difficult, but this car is really kickin my a$$!, I just dont want the factory alarm interfearing with the remote start , as I live in an area, were I dont even need the alarm, like I said, didnt even know the car had it till that morning!!..............I wish there was just a wire or so to cut to disarm the dang thing, and start over with the aftermarket remote start!

I'll take a look and see if I can find the info on the arming/disarming using only the key in my '97 manual. Not really sure though about aftermarket remote start and it'* relation to the factory alarm, but I'll see what info I can find and get back to you.

According to my owner'* manual for '97 (info for your '99 should be the same), once armed the alarm is deactivated by opening any door with a key or the remote. If the alarm goes off when opening with a key, then the door key cylinders are damaged.

Also, the system will not arm if you lock the doors using a key in the door or by manually sliding the lock control(*) to lock. If you use ANY inside power lock switch to lock the door(*), or use the remote to lock the doors, the system will be armed.
