Default Early model keyless idea....

Maybe we can get a techinfo together about how to get the horn to chirp, lights flash, or both, for keyless on models like my 93, where they don't do anything but lock.

Cmon guys, i know the gearheads want this too!

Basically take the lock/unlock signals from the keyless relay, and send a wire to the horn, or parking lamp one right?

yea that is correct, but its the duration that the signals sent. when the doors lock, its defirnaly longer thatn just a "chirp' of the horn, the lights though would be no problem

I think the bottom line is that the lock signal coming out of the Keyless Entry controller is one pulse. If you can use that to trigger a process controlled by something else (i.e. some electronic gadget of your own creation that needs only one pulse to set it off), then you're all set.

Yeah, that'* kind of like what I did, although I went with a keyless-entry/remote-starter combo instead of a keyless-entry/alarm, since the factory alarm is good enough for my purposes. But anyhow, the aftermarket keyless-entry is more-or-less the same as the factory system, but now I have parking-light confirmation to go with it.

The one thing I miss about the factory system was that its lockdown sequence goes in two pulses: the first one locks the doors; the second one a split-second later locks the filler door, so when you press the factory button you'd hear this high-security clunk-CLUNK sound, like multiple doors locking down.

The aftermarket box locks everything at once, so when I press the aftermarket Lock button on the remote, I get *blink*-WHONK instead, which isn't really the same thing...

Well i'd rather have the lights flash then the horn chirp. Got any relays (hopefully both in the same area...) that i could just run a wire between? I'm assuming the main parking lights, and the keyless, lock signal, so power locks don't do it on their own.

Yeah, i bet you wouldn't mind it either would you will

If anything, we could always put a relay to change to pulses or whatever too if we/you/them dont like the way it will be....
