Default Driver info display help

My 97 SSEi driver'* display still lights up that a tail light is out. When I got the car three bulbs were bad I replaced them, turned on the lights but the display still reads tail light. Have now replaced every bulb in tail lights and still display reads tail light out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Dan

License plate light? If not, try cleaning your bulb sockets.

Checked all the bulb sockets and they are ok, all lights light up as they should just the display reads that a tail light is still out when there isn't one out. Wondering if something is wrong with the display itself. I know of a SSEi in the wreckers I will get the gauge cluster and try it. Dan

No, we've never seen one flake out. It'* USUALLY the license plate light, which is on the same circuit (there are two, check both). If that doesn't work make DAMN sure the bulbs are actually all the right part number for all the taillights (even the little 156'*), and clean each socket with contact cleaner, then reassemble with dielectric grease.

I've never seen a lamp monitor fail. It'* always an overlooked bulb or corrosion.
