Default driv[paer'* side heated seat element

The driver'* side heated seat on my 2000 SSEi doesn't work [passenger side okay]. Prior to failure last winter, the seat became noticably hot [it almost burned me].

Should I attempt to replace the heating element myself, or should I look for a replacement seat from a junk yard. . . . or is it better to let my local dealer make the repair?

Here'* a good thread on it. After you read it over, you may be able to decide which route you want to take.

Where do we get the replacement heater portion? Dealer? Rockauto? Parts direct?
