Ok, another 95 Bonneville with the same issues- heat all the time, I can move the actuator manually with a long test light probe and it will give me AC until I shut the car off, then it 'defaults' back to heat. I have the programmer out (the thing mounted to the front of the heater box with wires and vacuum hoses?) and dangling, but I can't figure out how to get to the blend door actuator because of that stupid bar. The link posted above to another site showing the best way to get to it is apparently dead, I can't get it to come up....anybody have that page saved somewhere? Thanks!

Inside the actuator is a counter situation. It tells the HVAC controller where it is and what is going on. Sounds like you might be having issues with that or a cracked gear inside of it.

The easiest way to get to the actuator is to pull the hush panel off the passenger side up under the dash. Remove the two 7mm screws holding the HVAC controller in and wiggle it out as much as you can (there'* an electrical connector to the actuator on top. Remove the mall or bcm module to gain more room. If you are a 95, the remove the pcm. Unplug the actuator and slide your HVAC unit ouf ot the way. At this point I reach up and pop the rod or do it through the hole. Unscrew the two 5.5mm that hold the heater box cover on and pull back the carpet and padding to sneak it out. The actuator is on top of the cover.
